Michael serves as Portfolio Strategist at Taurus Family Office in Singapore advising ultra high net worth and key clients in Asia, Russia, Middle East and Africa. Previously, Michael worked in senior roles at HSBC Private Bank in in the Middle East and Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong and Singapore. He specializes in fund management and asset allocation, investment research and advisory and possesses deep knowledge in emerging and frontier markets. He is also a Director & Economic Advisor to Ceylon Asset Management in Sri Lanka, responsible for the launch of the Ceylon Index Fund, the 1st Index fund on the Colombo Stock Exchange as well as the Ceylon Dollar Bond Fund, the country’s first ever USD Bond Fund. He is the founder of MFF (Mongolia Frontier Fund) a Mongolia theme hedge fund.
Michael is a graduate of the European Business School with a major in Finance and international economics, having studied at the schools centers in London, Paris and Bologna, Italy in the respective local languages. In addition he studied in Japan, Korea, and China. He has also been an guest lecturer at the Chinese University of Hong Kong where he taught on Technical Analysis as well as a course on Banking & Financial Institutions with a focus on China’s Financial System. He also taught at the School of Finance – Renmin University in Beijing and has been invited to design a course curriculum on “Fixed Income Securities” for the Graduate School of The People’s Bank of China, China’s Central Bank. Michael is a regular columnist to FORBES Africa, Mongolia and Indonesia editions. At the same time.
