He has 19 years’ experience in corporate and financial risk management as an educator, researcher of award-winning peer reviewed papers and a consultant. He has worked on banking, insurance company, corporate and public sector on enterprise risk management, risk modelling, risk financing, insurance underwriting portfolio planning and performance optimisation, business process re-engineering, risk governance infrastructure building, reinsurance program structuring and pricing, capital management and business continuity planning projects for organisations across the globe.
Stanley is also an associate consultant for Nathan Associates Inc USA, and worked on USAID sponsored Pensions reform projects and on risk management staff development projects sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme (UNPD). Stanley has also advised government departments, regulatory authorities and industry associations on pensions policy and reform. Stanley worked as a Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in risk and insurance at Cass Business School, City University London, and a lecturer in Financial Risk Management at Salford Business School Manchester. He has supervised PhD students and taught for 16 years on the following courses on both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes: Accounting and Financial Management in Insurance, Insurance Markets and Strategy, Reinsurance and Risk Financing, Wealth Management, Life Insurance and Pensions, Strategic Risk Management, Financial Risk Management, Corporate Risk Management, International Financial Management, Theory of Risk and Insurance Markets and Property Insurance.
He attended Cass Business School where he earned a PhD in Insurance Studies with a straight pass and an MSc in Insurance and Risk with distinction. He served on the board and audit committee for Aductus Housing Group Manchester UK and as a Governor on the Finance Committee for Butterstile Primary School Manchester. Stanley has won international accolades for his research work published in the Journal of Risk Finance, Geneva Papers and International Insurance Society and currently serves as a peer reviewer for the Geneva Association for the Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance .
Stanley also served for four years from 2009 as a Chief Examiner in Risk Financing and Management for the London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF), on the Institute of Risk Management (UK) Exemptions Advisory Panel and as an Examiner for London Market practitioners in Corporate Insurance Strategy and on the Equality and Diversity committee for the CII (UK). He holds current visiting positions at Glasgow Caledonian University, University of Zambia and is currently a member of Faculty for the International Financial Management Association on the Risk and Insurance Underwriting certifications. He has also held visiting lectureship positions at Cass Business School (UK), Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), University of Oslo (Norway) and NUST-ZW.
